All employers. Under USERRA, employees who serve in the uniformed services have reemployment rights and protection from discrimination based on their service.
Background
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense program founded in 1972 to promote cooperation between service members and their civilian employers and to help resolve USERRA-related conflicts.
How to make the most of it
- Review your USERRA obligations for service-member leave and reemployment.
- Recognize employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
- Consider a formal ESGR Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve.
